Nemrég kipróbáltam a Lexus négykerék meghajtású hibrid SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle)-jét. Röviden összefoglalom mit gondolok erről az autóról. Induljunk kívülről. Szerintem a kocsi külseje ebben a gyöngyház fehérben nagyon mutatós, kimondottan jó ránézni, jól passzol a vonalaihoz. Az utakon általában ezüst és feketében látni ilyet, szerintem a fehér sokkal szebb, amint a mondás is mondja: White is the new black.
Car owners all over the world are looking for means to reduce the pollution emitted by their cars. The CO2 emissions create great damage to the environment and it is keeping this in mind that owners are searching for green cars. The owners of Lexus cars are a proud lot and they too look forward to green cars that are manufactured by their favorite manufacturers. Keeping their loyal customers in mind Lexus, the automotive giant is also producing green cars that are environment friendly. One of such green and environment friendly cars from the stables of Lexus division of Toyota is the 2008 Lexus LS 600h L. this car has a combination of a brand new 5 liter gasoline direct injection V8. It also boasts of high output capable electric motors and a battery pack that has been redesigned from scratch to make it capable of delivering horsepower in excess of 430. It is expected by Lexus that this vehicle will earn a SULEV (super ultra low emission vehicle).
The original Lexus LS400 was a machine that changed the world. "...exquisitely engineered and painstakingly put together," I wrote in the January, 1991, issue of Australia's Wheels magazine. "...it is now the benchmark against which all other luxury cars must now be judged." How true. Mercedes-Benz, shocked by the LS400's uncanny smoothness and silence, and its near-perfect panel gaps and interior seams, delayed its forthcoming W140 S-Class to rush through a bunch of engineering changes. As a result, the W140 arrived late, over budget and overweight, and probably cost then engineering chief Dr. Wolfgang Peter his job. The original Lexus LS400 won my admiration and respect: I was a member of the judging panel that voted the LS400 the 1990 Wheels Car of the Year (the Wheels award, founded in 1963, was modeled on Motor Trend's COTY). But I never loved the car. It had no character, no soul.
After poring over the tiny 2010 Lexus GS 450h images taken from the Lexus Japan website, it's nice to be able to look at some larger photos of the refreshed sedan. The ascending thickness of the front grille's chrome bars is very classy, and looks to be the best interpretation of Lexus' new hybrid grille treatment (as compared to the HS 250h &2010 Lexus LS 600hl). Still, there's only so much you can take from these types of photos, and it will be interesting to see all of the revised hybrids up close and personal. Like the Lexus LS hybrid, the 2010 GS 450h will also be receiving a mild refresh, including a new grille, new chrome-circled tail lights and new wheels. As far as I can decipher from the Lexus Japan website, where these photos were posted, there are some possible interior changes, including a HDD-based navigation system replacing the current DVD and very nice interior material/color combinations. Of course, it's impossible to say what options will make the trip to North America, but I'm hoping these Hybrid decals stays in Japan.
